Wooden decks are subject to a variety of issues that create the need for a deck repair job. Most often a deck repair is needed as the result of poor workmanship or building technique by the original installer. Other times, the lumber treatment or grade of lumber used is inadequate for the purpose that is intended. Additionally, decks are made of wood, and wood has a tendency to warp, twist, separate, and shift after it’s been installed, creating unsightly or structural issues.
We Restore Decks Inc helps customers resolve their deck “issues.” Thru our experience we are able to accurately solve your deck problem by following this process:
We Restore Decks’ Deck Repair Process:
- Diagnose the problem situation
- Explain the cause of the problem
- Repair the damage with proper technique workmanship and materials
- Warrant the repair to give you peace of mind
We try to make the process as easy as possible for you. Once you have scheduled your free deck evaluation, one of our experienced staff will come out and meet with you to see how we can help.
We will start by listening to you so we can understand your concerns. After that, we do a thorough structural inspection of the deck. Here we inspect the framing, ledger board, attachment to the house, posts, beams, railing guards, decking, and stairs if you have them. During this time we will also look to identify any rotten wood. Lastly, we identify any limitations the deck might have such as inadequate support, design flaws, airflow issues, or safety concerns.
Once we’ve come up with a plan, and we’re sure you are also happy with that plan, then we calculate a detailed plan and cost for performing the repairs. This often involves coming up with an option A and option B approach, sometimes even option C is required! Our whole goal is to help you get the most out of your existing deck.
What if my deck is too old or damaged to be saved?
This can happen. We see decks that are so poorly constructed that “saving” them is not worth the effort or the money. It happens every day. If we feel that your deck is “too far gone” we will tell you. We pride ourselves on our character and integrity to give you the best information possible.
